So, it’s been 3 months since I last dyed yarn, and I think 4 months before that. Miss me?
It’s been 3.5 months since I last blogged. Miss me?
Life has been too busy for my taste. Babies and their incessant need for mothering! That’s my little joke and I say it with a laugh as I grab him up and snuggle him close. I love that baby with all my heart. He is all that is good in the world. It was easy to let the blog slip because I felt like I’d only barely started it. But the real reason is because once I switched to WordPress, I was overwhelmed by it. Sure, it’s easy enough to post an entry, but it’s not easy to make it look how I want it to look. It looks nothing like I want it to look. I don’t care for the way it looks, I don’t currently have the cash to make it look the way I want it to look, and I certainly don’t have the time to gain the know-how either.
So where does that leave me? And what about all my big plans?
I still have big plans, but they’ve shifted, as plans do.
If you go to my Springtree Road yarn shop website, it won’t take you anywhere at all. I’ve been trying two minutes here and two minutes there to fix it. I want it to point to my Etsy shop, but it’s still not working. I’m moving all my yarn there. So if you’re looking for SR yarn, you’ll find it there. Or you can find the main shop here, which I will close once I get all the inventory moved over. I also do that two minutes at a time, as I think of it. I’m not going to say that I’m done making yarn, but I will be making less of it. Other things have had to take priority. That and French Honey has taken over my free time.
I thought, hey, I’ll just get French Honey set up and then I’ll do both! Silly me. That was in February. I didn’t count on the fact that I tend to get obsessed with things and I greatly misjudged how long it would take me to set up the French Honey shop. I’m not even done yet! But I will say it has been nice not having a super hot house this summer. Dyeing in the kitchen during the summer makes for a really, really toasty home!
So those big plans? I need to re-evaluate. But big plan #1 is I want to learn to draw. I got a book and I’m 4 lessons in. The book says anyone can learn to draw. We’ll see about that.
Now if I could find a book that says anyone can learn to customize WordPress, I’d be set!
And here’s a cute baby, just because I just really can’t post without putting a photo in. And he’s cute. And sweet. And just turned 16 months old this week.
